About the Youth Leader Exchange for Conference and Sharing (VT25-08) Hong Kong
GREAT Indonesia, in collaboration with VolTra Hong Kong, is excited to announce a unique opportunity for passionate young leaders. This is the Youth Leader Exchange for Conference and Sharing (VT25-08), a dynamic program culminating in the inspiring “Thriving Children & Youth Conference 2025”.
This program invites exceptional youth as overseas delegates to primarily join and contribute to the “Thriving Children & Youth Conference 2025”. You will be an integral part of a movement that brings together passionate young people and changemakers for meaningful dialogue and innovative youth service ideas.
As an overseas delegate, your role will involve supporting local youth teams in preparing their pitching ideas before the conference. During the camp, you will connect in person, explore innovative ideas together, and engage in meaningful cross-cultural experiences, sparking creativity, inspiration, and lasting global connections.
Your role (as Overseas Delegates) in supporting the Hong Kong Pitching Team:
- Connect & Co-create Online (Mid-July): Participate in virtual sessions to share ideas and give feedback to help your Hong Kong team shape and strengthen their pitches.
- Intensive Coaching & Preparation (Early August): Bring your perspective and help create a more inclusive, cross-cultural impact story to support the Hong Kong pitching team to prepare for their presentation idea.
- Showcase Your Impact (21st – 25th August): Participate directly in the “C&Y Catalytic Pitching” during the conference, where groups present their developed ideas to a wider audience in Hong Kong.
Now, GREAT is to recruit volunteer as a candidate, to have a further selection process.
General Objectives of the project:
1. To represent GREAT organization in international youth event.
2. To support Hong Kong’s local youth teams in preparing and refining their pitching ideas.
3. To facilitate meaningful cross-cultural experiences and dialogue among young people and changemakers.
4. To explore innovative youth service ideas and social innovation collaboratively.
5. To empower young delegates to grow as glocal youth leaders and build lasting global connections.
Venue & Time:
Duration: 5 days offline in Hong Kong (with pre-conference virtual sessions starting Mid-July).
Venue: Hong Kong.
Date: 21st – 25th August, 2025.
Requirements:
1. GREAT member. If you are not a member, contact us here.
2. Must be between 18–29 years old at the start of the program.
3. Have a passport ready and valid at least until February 2026 or later. Please note: applicants without submitting a copy passport will not be considered.
4. Familiar with the work and the activities of GREAT as sending organization.
5. Have volunteering experience, preferably with GREAT.
6. Willing to communicate regularly with VolTra Hong Kong and GREAT during the preparation stages.
7. Possess high motivation and interest in the project topic, with a strong willingness to actively participate in workshops and discussions.
8. Fluent in spoken and written English is preferable.
9. Open-minded, good teamwork, respect others, and willing to learn something new.
10. Committed to take part in the whole hosting program and actively taking part in all activities.
11. Committed to do the assignment plan, from the pre-during-post project.
The Project Covers:
⇒Participation in the program is completely free of charge.
⇒ Accommodation, meals, and most local transportation during the camp period will be provided.
⇒ A flight subsidy of up to USD 600 may be provided to selected outstanding delegates after the interview and selection process from the hosting organization. This subsidy will be distributed in August, after completing online events and arriving in Hong Kong.
⇒ Supporting documents as sending and hosting organization.
The Project DOES NOT Covers:
1. Passport fee.
2. Travel insurance.
3. Visa costs (if any).
4. Personal medications.
5. Personal expenses and pocket money.
6. Commitment fee (GREAT will refund this to volunteers after they complete the project, submit a report and finish all assignments on time).
7. Organizational support fee/Inscription Fee (for GREAT to support non-funded activities which are not related to any funded program; e.g organizational events, international networking, and promotional tools development).
8. Flight costs, if not selected for the flight subsidy through hosting’s (VolTra Hong Kong) interview/selection process.
9. Possible health protocol costs may appear related to COVID-19 policy (or other diseases if applicable) in sending or hosting country.
Terms and Conditions:
1. The activity will be conducted entirely in English.
2. After the selection process with GREAT Indonesia, there will be a further selection process by VolTra Hong Kong (the hosting organization). The outcome of this specific selection will determine whether the participant is eligible for the flight subsidy of up to USD 600. If a candidate is not selected for the subsidy by VolTra, they will be responsible for covering their own flight expenses.
3. Accepted participants will be invited to join pre-conference virtual sessions from July 2025.
4. Selected candidates must pay:
⇒ Commitment fee IDR 1.000.000 to GREAT (to be paid not later than June 09th)
⇒ Organizational Support Fee IDR 1.500.000 to GREAT (to be paid not later than June 09th)
5. Selected candidate is ready to do pre, during, and post assignments of the project that supports GREAT activities (Participants selected for this program are expected to be willing to potentially become Camp Leaders for upcoming GREAT Indonesia projects in future Spring and Summer seasons, utilizing the leadership and exchange skills gained as part of their assignment plan)
6. Selected candidate agrees to sign a legal agreement with GREAT carrying pre-during-post assignment of the project.
7. Fully attend the Pre Departure Training with GREAT (time and place to be confirmed).

√ Pre-Departure Training with GREAT (time and place to be confirmed)
⇒ During the project
√ Send pictures and videos of departure and during projects regularly to the GREAT staff
√ Post, tag and mention GREAT social media when posting documentation related to this project
√ Communicate regularly with GREAT staff during the project
⇒ Post project
√ Submit a report of participation at the latest 3 working days after arrival at Indonesia
√ Become Camp Leaders for upcoming GREAT Indonesia projects in future Spring and Summer seasons, and:
Optional:
√ Support the promotional activities offline with GREAT staffs September-December 2025
√ Support the promotional activities online with GREAT September-December 2025
√ Be active in at least 5 months in a row of local volunteering activities in their closest GO Cities in Indonesia after Hong Kong between September 2025 – January 2026
√ Other contribution are welcome.
