About STAGED! INTERNATIONAL TRAINING COURSE – ITC on gender issues and non formal education methods

Struggling Against Gender-based Discrimination through Youth Work in EU and Asia or STAGED! is a series of three International Training Course (ITC) for youth funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission in 2017. In fact, this is the first ITC of STAGED! Project. The training will focus on some aspects. Firstly, analysis of the socio-cultural backgrounds on the base of the gender role models in the different societies. Secondly, deepen the women role with a focus on the family, community and economic dimension. Thirdly, analysis of the gender-related conflicts and development of possible ways to manage them. Finally, during the TC it will be experimented the NFE (non formal education) tools and the participative methodologies that will be applied during the Youth Meetings – YMs, the Study Phase – SP and the Local Actions Implementation

Aim

To raise awareness on gender-sensitive issues, on the role of young women within the family, community and economy and to enhance the importance of promoting equal rights and opportunities behind the gender gaps.

Objectives

1. To raise awareness on the need of promoting young women empowerment, equal rights and opportunities for both men and women in EU and SEA countries;
2. To deepen the different gender role models in the involved countries so to draft and propose new role models based on equal rights, responsibilities and opportunities for both males and females;
3. To exchange the good practices in the field of gender equality and women empowerment, among EU and SEA civil society organizations;
4. To develop new NFE tools and working methods to favour the raising awareness process and the young women participation in EU and SEA countries;
5. To provide participants with new competences and know how on project planning and project life’ cycle in order to create an effective set of actions and IVS initiatives in the gender equality framework within the involved countries.

Requirements

1. GREAT members/Indonesian nationality
2. Age: 18+
3. Holding active Indonesian passport expired at December 2017 or later
4. Interested in: human rights and gender issues, non formal education for youth, and intercultural exchange
5. Preferable: experienced in leading workcamp or peer volunteering or activists of GO Cities
6. Fluent in spoken and written English is preferable
7. Commitment to disseminate the knowledge in GREAT members like in work camp as a camp leader, local event, enrichment, training, etc.

Term of conditions

1. The activity will be conducted entirely in English
2. Inscription fee is IDR 1.000.000. The payment procedure will be discussed further after the announcement of successful candidates
3. Communication Cost is Rp 100.000,- per month. The project duration will be calculated rounded-up a month.
4. Guarantee fee IDR 1.000.000. This amount of money will be given back to you after the project finished and make report to GREAT.
