About World Exchange: The “Our Food” Youth Exchange

“Our Food” Youth Exchange project is part of the World Exchange capacity building for youth. The project includes 4 Youth Exchanges in 4 different countries. Also, it has training program and an Evaluation activity for the staffs of 6 partner organizations involved in the project. Furthermore, the activity will be hands on and food will be used as a means for intercultural learning. Additionally, we use food to understand its different aspects related to environment. World Exchange is a Capacity Building in the Field of Youth project funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission. Originally, the idea of the project is to set the capacitate NGOs to plan, implement and evaluate youth exchanges using the European model for youth from different countries and backgrounds.

Aims of “Our Food” Youth Exchange

Participants acquire more knowledge about the different countries’ food in terms of traditions and eating habits
Allowing them to understand different cultures and ultimately adapt and experiment when they are travelling in other countries
Developing a critical mind about food: where it comes from, how different vegetables are grown, how meat is slaughtered in different situations on small and large scale

Requirements to join “Our Food” Youth Exchange

1. GREAT members/Indonesian nationality
2. Age between 18-25 years old
3. 4 participants ( 2 males 2 females )
4. Holding active Indonesian passport
5. Fluent in spoken and written English is preferable
6. Interested in learning new cultures
7. Knowledge about food exchanges
8. Able to perform local cultures
9. Commitment to disseminate the knowledge in GREAT members like in work camp as a camp leader, local event, enrichment, training, etc.

Term of conditions

1. The activity will be conducted entirely in English
2. Participant fee is IDR 2.175.000. The payment procedure will be discussed further after the announcement of successful candidates
3. Making a report to GREAT after the Youth Exchange
4. Guarantee fee IDR 1.000.000. The payment procedure will be discussed further after the announcement of successful candidate. This amount of money will be given back to you after the project finished and make report to GREAT.

What “Our Food” Youth Exchange Program covers

1. Return flight ticket Indonesia-Italy (the hosting organization will buy the international tickets)
2. Meals, accommodation and local transport during the program
3. Visa fee
4. Insurance
5. Project materials
