Background of Stop Climate Change Project
Situation of climate change has been so far recognized as one of the most crucial global problems. In fact, many people and organizations have been working hard to overcome the situation. However, the global carbon emission keeps increasing (21 billion tons in 1990 to 29 billion in 2009 while our planet can absorb only 10 billion in its nature). Moreover, the damage is getting more and more serious on landscape, forests and its biodiversity. Also in food production and water supply, human security and the list goes on.
Although the recent COP21 has agreed on global goals, we need much further efforts and collaboration among countries, stakeholders, organizations and people to prevent increase of global temperature within 1.5-2 degrees. Furthermore, innovative, epoch‐making actions and cooperation need to be created and developed in order to have breakthrough to protect our beautiful planet for the future generations. Thus, we see one of which can be international voluntary service.
Aims
- Get actively involved in carbon reduction activity through SCC projects in 4 countries
- Learn and create Carbon Offset and Crowd Funding for the sustainability of each project
- Raise the awareness of local people concerning climate change issue
- Promote the environmental-friendly lifestyle and apply it to the work camps
Venue and Time
Venue: Himachal Pradesh, India and Trapaing Sangke, Cambodia
Time: 4th Jul – 25th September 2017
Requirements
1. Active GREAT member
2. Available and committed to join the SCC Long Workcamp in India OR Cambodia at least for 1 month
3. Holding active Indonesian passport, with expiry date on 25th march 2018 or later
4. Fluent in spoken and written English is a must
5. Interested in Climate Change and environmental issue
6. Having knowledge of Carbon Offset and Crowd Funding is preferable
7. Able to pay the expense in advance

- Application deadline : Friday, 23rd of June 2017 at 13:00 WIB (West Indonesian Time Zone).
- We only contact shortlisted candidate for further interview, which will be announced by email, along with interview schedule.
Term of conditions
Project in India:
1. The project will use English as the language
2. No Participant Fee for India
3. Basic meals and accommodation are covered. However, volunteer must bear their own personal costs.
4. Committed to accomplish the project as planned
5. Inscription fee IDR 1.000.000 + Communication Fee IDR (100.000 x months of stay).
It must be paid to GREAT before your departure to India.
6. Guarantee fee IDR 1.000.000. This amount of money will be given back to you after the project finish and you complete report to GREAT.
7. Fully attend the Pre Departure Training.
8. Flight support 25% for 1 month participation, 50% for 2 months participation, and 75% for 3 months participation (see the table below)
9. Able to pay the flight fare to India in advance, SCC Team will give the reimbursement after you accomplish your volunteering.
Project in Cambodia:
1. The project will use English as the language
2. Participation Fee 300USD per month
3. Basic meals and accommodation are included in the fee. However, volunteer must bear their own personal costs.
4. Committed to accomplish the project.
5. Inscription fee IDR 1.000.000 + Communication Fee IDR (100.000 x months of stay).
It must be paid to GREAT before your departure to Cambodia.
6. Guarantee fee IDR 1.000.000. This amount of money will be given back to you when the project finish and you complete report to GREAT.

What SCC program supports
1. Return flight ticket Indonesia-India/Cambodia-Indonesia.
SCC Team will reimburse your flight fare based on the length of your stay in the project (see the table above).

What SCC program does NOT cover
1. Personal medication
2. Passport fee & Visa Fee
3. Local transport from your hometown to Semarang or Jakarta (the departure will be from Semarang / Jakarta Airport)
4. Personal expenses during your journey
5. Local transportation during the Pre Departure Training
