Background of Training Camp Leaders 2026

Gerakan Kerelawanan Internasional (GREAT) mission is to provide opportunities for youth by empowering them to develop their unique skills and become agents of change for world peace. Each year, GREAT organizes work camps to create international friendships among participants and to involve local communities. Moreover, there is at least one camp leader to manage and lead work camps, from pre-, during, and post-activities.

A work camp is a place where every GREAT Camp Leader can learn, share, and realize their potential among participants. Also, this is an event where they can contribute to local communities and local partners’ programs. While doing so, they will get the chance to improve their skill set, from soft skills (personal, interpersonal, social skills) to hard skills (language, writing, project cycle management, audiovisuals, etc) at the same time.

Therefore, this year, GREAT will conduct training for GREAT Camp Leaders to be able to contribute more in the work camp activities. Additionally, by leading the work camp event they will also improve their own skills through summer work camps 2026 and more work camps beyond.

Aims

The participants to be ready, also be prepared to act as GREAT Camp Leaders for upcoming GREAT work camps.

Objectives

1. To cultivate non-formal learning methods.
2. To comprehend how a work camp is organized.
3. To assist participants in developing their own skill set for the benefit of the work camp organization.
4. To encourage participants to dig more of their potential.
5. To accommodate existing camp leaders to refresh and improve their skills as well as share it with new ones.

Expected Outcome

1. Participants experience non-formal learning methods.
2. Participants comprehend how a work camp is organized from pre-, during, and post-activities.
3. Participants are able to develop their own skillset as camp leaders.
4. Participants gain confidence and are prepared and ready to lead work camps.
5. Participants are able to refresh and improve their skills as well as share it with new ones.

Applicant’s Profile

1. GREAT member.
2. Preferably has participated in at least one work camp and/or Basic Training of GREAT.
3. Confident and good in English.
4. Highly motivated and initiative-taking when they work in a team and/or as an individual.
5. Open-minded, respect others, and care about the environment.
6. Having an interest or basic skill in writing/photography/movie making.
7. Willing to be a camp leader for Summer Camp 2026.
8. Committed to fully attending the whole duration of the training (GREAT will support you with a permission letter for college/work).
9. Committed to leading work camps full-time where you will be deployed.

⇒  Choose the work camp/camps that you are interested in leading (think of your time availability, topic of interest, and location)
⇒  For new camp leaders, fill out the online application form here.
⇒  For experienced camp leaders, fill out the online application form here.
⇒  Deadline for application: Friday, 18^th of January 2026 at 18.00 WIB/GMT+7
⇒  GREAT will only contact shortlisted candidates for further interviews.
⇒  Interview schedule: Saturday, 19^th of January 2026 (timetable to be confirmed)

Training Conditions 

⇒  This training is free of participation fee.
⇒  GREAT will cover basic accommodation, meals, snacks, and training materials during training sessions.
⇒  Participants will bear their own transport.
⇒  Detail of the training is sent only to selected participants.
