GREAT is the only partner organization of the international network SCI/Service Civil International in Indonesia. Now, SCI launches a writing contest that we are happy to share it with you: Stories Contest “Voice Yourself”. Therefore, if you are volunteers and peace activists in international voluntary service, you can participate until April 26th, 2020.
Write about your personal experience in volunteering/working for peace. Illustrate the impact it had on yourself and the environment/community. Also, you can inspire others in this time of quarantine.
Later, SCI will choose the text that better shows the SCI spirit. Then, the winner will receive a book reward: Words about deeds. It is the publication that collects stories of the 100 years of SCI and volunteering for peace.

Requirements of the Stories Contest:
⇒ The story should be a maximum of 500 words long (including the title).
⇒ Write the story in English.
⇒ The story should be accompanied by a photograph that relates to the story (minimum 1800x1280px).
⇒ Should add a descriptive caption and authorship to accompany the photograph.
⇒ Send the article in word format (can be open office) by email to communication@sci.ngo by 26th April 2020.
⇒ Submit the picture as a separate file (JPEG/JPG/PNG, not in a word document). Put it as an email attachment or as a downloadable link.
⇒ SCI will publish all articles in the SCI blog Voices of Volunteers.
⇒ SCI may promote articles on social media.
⇒ The prize will consist of the book Word about deeds. SCI will it by post to the winner, free of charge.
⇒ The jury will consist of volunteers and staff of the International Secretariat of SCI headquarter in Antwerp.
About SCI
SCI was founded by Pierre Cérésole. He is a Swiss engineer who established peace and humanitarian movement in the aftermath of World War I. He has laid down the foundations of SCI in 1920. Nowadays, SCI consists of 42 members (branches). Furthermore, SCI is also even bigger with the growing number of partner organizations in all continents.
