Background

Training for Indonesian Coaches Chapter Semarang is a capacity building activity to prepare Indonesian language coaches. Those coaches will support Indonesian language class for GREAT Indonesia international volunteers. In addition, the aims of the class is to give basic Indonesian language skills to our newly arrived international volunteers who will be deployed in different projects in Indonesia. Also, the training offers an opportunity for GREAT members, especially those in Semarang region who are interested and willing to share and to teach Indonesian language to foreigners as well as to be more active volunteering in a different way.

Aims

1. To fulfill the need of Indonesian language coaches in Semarang.
   2. To accommodate GREAT members interest in teaching Indonesian language for foreigners.
   3. To develop GREAT members skills especially on teaching Indonesian language for foreigners.

Requirements

• Member of GREAT of Semarang
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Have the motivation to teach Indonesian language for foreigners
• Capable in developing teaching method in Indonesian language training
• Able to work in a team as well as individually
• Good at communication and interaction with other people
• Deep understanding in cultural diversity
• Available for minimum 1 year ahead as GREAT Bahasa Indonesia Coaches

Training Conditions

1. The training will be conducted in English and Indonesian
2. Participants are obliged to attend the entire training program from arrival to departure time.
3. GREAT will cover:
   • Training fee (or this training is free of charge)
   • Training kit and training materials
   • Accommodation (for those who want to stay over night at the volunteers house).
4. GREAT will not cover:
   • Participants cost of transportation
   • Participants meal

What You Should Bring

1. Snack for Snack Exchange event
2. Pen and notebook
3. Sleeping bag and Bath Kit (if you plan to stay over in volunteer house)
4. High motivation and initiative
